"Since 2025, photovoltaic power generation will gradually become the main energy in China." Cao Renxian, vice chairman of China Power Supply Society and president of SUNGROW, said at the SNEC PV Power Expo & Conference in Shanghai on June 3.
"2019 will be a milestone in the history of photovoltaic, while the globe will enter a new era of PV comprehensive parity soon." Gao Jifan, the co-chair of the Global Solar Council (GSC) and chairman of the China Photovoltaic Industry Association, said that after the release of domestic policies, there will be recovery growth in the market.
It is reported that on May 30, the National Energy Administration issued the "Notice on the Construction of Wind Power and PV Power Generation Projects in 2019", clarifying the priority of promoting the construction of unsubsidized and affordable online projects, which means a major shift for the industry.
Due to the rapid decline in photovoltaic costs, the market made an overall growth in 2019. The trend of diversification of the market is more and more obvious. It is expected that this year, the overseas market will increase from 60GW of last year to around 85GW.
At the same time, China's PV industry still achieved good results amid the decline of the “531” subsidy policy last year. According to Gao Jifan, the production of polysilicon in China exceeded 250,000 tons, with a year-on-year increase over 3.3%; the production of wafer and battery reached 109GW and 87.2GW respectively, up 19.1% and 21.1% year-on-year. The output of module is about 85.7GW, year-on-year grew by 14.3% and ranked first in the world for 12 consecutive years.
In the aspect of the application, domestic installed capacity is more than 44GW, making China the largest installed PV market for six consecutive years. China's cumulative installed capacity exceeds 147 GW, remaining number one in the world for four consecutive years by the end of last year. At the same time, the national abandoned photoelectric output has decreased by 1.8 billion kWh year-on-year, while the light rejection rate declined by 2.8 percentage points.
The photovoltaic industry in China is more and more promising. In order to explore its tremendous market, the 11th Guangzhou International Solar Photovoltaic Exhibition (PV Guangzhou 2019) will be held this August 16-18.
