China PV Industry Development Road Map Released by CPIS This Jan.

The 2018 revised version of China PV Industry Development Road Map is finally out this Jan 24th. Under the guidance of Electronic & Information Department, Ministry of Industry and Informational Technology of the PRC, the Road Map is co-authored by China Photovoltaic Industry Association (CPIS) and CCID Consulting.
The Road Map predicts the development of Polycrystalline Silicon, Silicon Wafer, Solar Cell, PV Module, and Installed PV Capacity in 2019. Partial key analysis can be concluded as follows:
Polycrystalline Silicon
In 2018, there are 10 Polycrystalline Silicon manufacturers in China producing at a capacity of over 10 thousand tons, taking the national total to over 250 thousand tons.

Silicon Wafer
In 2018, China’s Silicon Wafers output came in at 109.2GW, a 19.1% growth versus 2017. The world’s top 10 manufacturers are all located in China.

Solar Cell
In 2018, China produced 87.2GW of solar cells, exhibiting a 21.1% growth. The top 12 Chinese manufacturers produced at a capacity of over 2GW, contributing 53.4% of the national output.

PV Module
China’s PV module output in 2018 hit 85.7GW, a 14.3% increase compared to 2017. 11 manufacturers produced at a capacity of over 2GW, accounting for 62.3% of national volume.

Installed PV Capacity
In 2018, China saw 44GW new installed PV capacity, ranking first in both new and cumulative capacity. Throughout the year, China produced 180 billion kWh of electricity via PV generation, making up 2.6% of the nation’s energy consumption. In 2019, China is predicted to continue its lead in PV instillation and cumulative capacity.
